Dark Souls III - Top Ten Bosses Revamped
After taking a look back at some of my previous content, I realized it was time to revamp my top ten lists regarding the best bosses of the Souls series. In particular, my original top ten boss list for Dark Souls III relied on a single play-through of the game with my initial feelings taking precedence over mechanics and lore implications. Thus, I've decided to revamp not only my top ten bosses from Dark Souls III but also from each other game in the Soulsborne series.
It still baffles me how High Lord Wolnir made it up so high on my original list which can be found here. Regardless, I believe that I hit the top three correctly on my initial blind play-through with the Nameless King still reigning supreme as the, hands down, best boss in the game. However, after the top three, my list dramatically changes, with a couple of new additions including Sister Friede who really was the best part of the Ashes of Ariandel. Soul of Cinder jumped up to its rightful place on the list at number four as a perfect capstone to this astounding trilogy while Aldrich slips back to number nine. Dragonslayer Armor has made its debut on my best list mainly because of two things: First off, he's a particularly vicious fight requiring quick reflexes no matter what build you are; and secondly, because he's still quite an enigma, with the Pilgrim Butterflies, the most mysterious creatures in Dark Souls III, playing a major role. Anyway, my final list (until the Ringed City DLC drops) is below.
When I went back to check on my original list (link: here) of the best Bloodborne bosses, I realized that I must have smoked a literal ton of assorted and vibrant drugs when I wrote it because, for some unexplainable reason, Rom, The Vacuous Spider makes an appearance on it. Yes, Rom, The "I've got a sickness and the only prescription is more fucking spiders" guy that hides behind not only his eight-legged legion but also his completely ridiculous magic attacks which are about as fair and balanced as Fox News. As soon as I saw that travesty, I knew a new list had to be formulated and one that incorporated the bosses from the DLC, four of whom make an appearance on this new list (Can you guess which one didn't? Hint: It's the Living Failures. Was that more than a hint? Oh well). Additionally, as I mentioned on my previous list, I had trouble deciding between Martyr Logarius and Gehrman, The First Hunter as my favorite boss but now, after quite a few more play-throughs, I'm confident that I was wrong in my initial assessment and it should have been the first of the hunters. Anyway, the new, revised list is below for the top ten bosses in Bloodborne.
1. Gehrman, The First Hunter
2. Ludwig the Accursed
3. Lady Maria
4. Martyr Logarius
5. Ebrietas, Daughter of the Cosmos
6. Father Gascoigne
7. Orphan of Kos
8. Watchdog of the Old Lords

Dark Souls II
I'd say it's fairly easy to say that Dark Souls II is the weakest entry in this series but it wasn't completely devoid of its fair share of triumphant moments. These are the top ten bosses from Dark Souls II in my opinion. Obviously. God I hate how I have to say 'in my opinion'. Clearly, it's my opinion since I'm writing this article. Who else's opinion would it be? Is my opinion an absolute, non-negotiable fact? No, of course not and neither is anybody else's. Regardless, here's ten great boss fights from Dark Souls II. In my opinion. Goddamnit.

Unbelievably, when I went to look back at my previous list of the top ten boss battles in Dark Souls (found here) after I'd written this one, I discovered I had retained the exact same order all these years later. The only difference is that I added the DLC bosses onto this list. Dark Souls was a defining game for me. It was the bar by which I set all future games and continues to do so. From the level construction to the boss design, from the boundless lore to the engaging multiplayer, Dark Souls stands as perhaps the most influential game of the last decade, influencing countless imitators who pale in the face of the king, or should I say lord. Right? Like the four lord souls. You get it... right? Right? Either way, here are the top ten bosses in Dark Souls. And by the way, did you see the all the awesome art I'm using? Demon's Souls
The first of it's kind. The inspiration behind a generation of gaming. The true cornerstone to the Soulsborne series is Demon's Souls. At the time of its release, it introduced the world to the idea that players craved a challenge. That players were smart enough to put together the pieces of elaborate, meticulously detailed lore. That multiplayer could meld seamlessly into a single player experience. Honestly, the fact that Demon's Souls was even published is a miracle. Regardless, it came out and it was spectacular. Here's a list of the top ten bosses in Demon's Souls.
